Andrea Turner

Andrea graduated from Goldsmiths College of Art, London in 1988. Since then she has continued working as an artist using paint, photography and poetry. Although initially an oil painter for the past 6 years she has been working mainly in watercolour, both on a large and small scale, finding it a very vibrant and lively medium.

Inspiration for her work comes largely from the landscape, particularily the beautiful and magical landscape of Moray, Scotland, where she now lives.Through close observation and feeling of the landscape Andrea expresses thoughts, ideas and feelings about her own journey through life and in doing so hopes to reach for the unique but universal experience which can also touch others through her work….

“By building up and removing layer upon layer of transparent colour, marks and movements, working with as much integrity, freedom and presence as possible, I hope to reveal something of the beauty, joy and deep feeling of being alive at this time and express both the transience and deep rooted permanence of life.”

Andrea’s work has been exhibited in many galleries in London and Scotland including the Royal Scottish Academy, Flaubert gallery in Edinburgh. The Compass Gallery in Glasgow, Aberdeen Art Gallery and the Findhorn Foundation.
