Art is at the heart of life. It often throws a life line to those who need to heal and expand into fearless creating. Art making can teach us that we are evolving; – infinitely capable of holding various perceptions, ideas, believes and outlooks, no matter what state of health we are in. Art does not tell us that we are a problem which needs fixing or that we have no talent.
Culturally, in our time we have divided art into potential success for the talented and clever ones, and a therapy for the ill. To push through this division is the first step on the road. I often take strength from artists of the past who tell me through their work about the inner necessity to create, its spiritual essence and uplifting qualities.

In the studio I try to provide a space which allows art to happen in its own pace. Usually it takes a while for us to settle enough. Therefore I prefer longer classes, weekends, or the two week courses. In the studio I see myself as part of the gestalt that wants to materialise, not as holding any answers except for some technical advice. In the studio we are all simultaneously enwrapped in the wonders of art making. It immediately deepens the experience for each person. Wanting a successful outcome too much too fast can cloud over the soul of what is emerging. But this soul in art is the reflection of the soul of the maker in its true beauty. No other healing is necessary.
